A individual accused with stalking Kate McCann allegedly left her a recorded message which posed: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, 24, who court testimony revealed has persistently declared she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are on trial accused with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and information recovered from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test during 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most publicized investigations and is still open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

Another voicemail, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I believe what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone said: "Suppose there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? Then what? Is that not important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I just want to know," the message continued.

The tribunal was advised that via electronic messages, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a DNA test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a bid to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

The investigator, an intelligence analyst with Leicestershire Police who collated the information, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally reached out to close associates of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On that date, the father picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's recording declaring "I will persist and I plan to establish my claim."

The court heard Mrs Spragg established a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt before assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in the county in last December.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had contacted through WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be considered genuine in the period preceding the trip to that location, that area, in December 2024.

The court learned message exchanges between the two defendants, in last November, considering endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from silverware at a eating establishment.

"We must take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the trip to their residence, Mrs Spragg dispatched a communication which said: "We are sitting adjacent to the McCanns' home with our vehicle dark similar to investigators. I desired to do this with another person I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
